Purse-suing Mental Health

Grab your friends and your lucky dabbers—Purse‑suing Mental Health is back for our second annual purse bingo bash! Join us on August 23, 2025: doors open at 11:30 am, and bingo starts at 12:00 pm at the Clarks Summit Fire Company (321 Bedford Street, Clarks Summit, PA 18411) for an afternoon of thrills, belly laughs, and—of course—bingo bragging rights. This lighthearted, purse‑themed bingo event will raise awareness of our mission and underscore the prevalence of mental health concerns here in NEPA, while generating funds to support our upcoming wellness‑promoting programs—everything from guided nature walks to a Positive Psychology‑inspired book club.

Tickets are available on Eventbrite for $25 in advance ($35 at the door), which includes one (1) bingo card for ten (10) games. Additional cards, as well as basket raffle and 50/50 raffle tickets, will also be offered for purchase throughout the event. We’ll also have purse‑themed prizes, specialty raffle tickets, and basket raffles lurking around every corner. Outside food and beverages are not allowed, as they will be available at an additional cost.

Come for the bingo, stay for the community vibes, and leave knowing you’ve helped promote mental health education right here in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Let’s dab, win, and make a difference—together!

SEPTEMBER'S BOOK: THE HOW OF HAPPINESS - SONYA LYUBOMIRSKY

Nurture in Nature

Join us for Nurture in Nature, a FREE nature hike that blends the beauty of the outdoors with the science of positive psychology. On September 28, 2025, we’ll gather at the Trolley Trail's Roz Peck Memorial Trailhead to explore the healing and uplifting power of nature, as highlighted by leading research in mental health and well-being. As we hike through serene trails, we’ll discuss how spending time in nature can boost mood, reduce stress, and foster a deeper sense of connection.

Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, a mental health advocate, or simply curious about the science behind happiness, this hike offers a unique opportunity to learn, reflect, and rejuvenate. Along the way, we’ll pause for moments of mindfulness, guided by principles from the works of positive psychology, to truly immerse ourselves in the present and embrace the benefits that nature has to offer.

Let’s walk, talk, and discover how nature can nurture our minds and spirits. All are welcome—bring your curiosity, your love for the outdoors, and a desire to explore the intersection of nature and well-being.
